Fuel Policy
In principle, the vast majority of our cars are delivered with full or half-full fuel tank. The level of fuel is mutually checked from the renter and the authorised personnel of our company at the beginning of the rental. The renter is obliged to return the car with the same amount of fuel. If not, the renter is kindly requested to visit the nearest petrol station in order to refill the car accordingly.
Reservation Changes
Following a car reservation on particular requested dates and depending on availability, the company reserves the right to provide a different car brand from an equal or higher category. Of course, the customer’s choice is always noted and set as priority in our schedule.
If the customer wishes to reschedule his reservation, what should be taken into account is price recalculation based on car availability and prices fluctuation at that particular time.
Rental Insurance Schemes (CDW – FDW)
CDW
Our rental cars are covered by the so-called mixed insurance, which is included in the default rate. Mixed Insurance is a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with limited excess/deductible, also referred to as driver’s liability sum. Excess/deductible is the amount you may have to pay in case of damage to the body of the leased car by your fault during your rental period. The excess sum varies depending on car category.
Please note that the following parts are NOT covered by the insurance:
Wheels and tyres
Windows and mirrors
Undercarriage
Engine
Car’s interior
Personal belongings
Lost keys
The liability for damage to the rental car is limited to the following maximum charge, provided that the traffic code, traffic light or STOP sign are not violated, the driver does not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the driver does not exercise abnormal use of the car and is registered to drive this particular car in the rental contract.
A’ & B’ Category: €300
C’ & Cabrio & 4×4 Category: €400
Premium Category: €600
Please note that the maximum charge, or in other words personal risk, does not imply that the renter is required to provide a credit card, credit card details or deposit a guarantee in cash by signing the contract with a standard rate. He/She will only be requested to cover the cost of a potential damage by his/her fault with a maximum charge, as mentioned above. For example in A’ category, if a damage costs €100, this is the amount that the renter will be requested to pay. If a damage costs €500, the renter will be requested to pay his maximum of €300 and no more.
FDW
If the customer wishes to phase out the personal risk, Savvas Rentals provides also the option of full protection safety, the so-called FWD with no personal risk.
While this insurance scheme implies full protection and absolves the customer from the abovementioned personal risk, it is important to note what FDW does NOT cover!
Driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs
STOP sign violation
Traffic light violation
Traffic code violation
Driving by a non-registered driver
Abnormal use of the vehicle
Wheels and tyres
Windows and mirrors
Undercarriage
Engine
Car’s interior
Personal belongings
Lost keys
Further Expenses to be considered in case of damage/accident
Immobilisation expenses in case of damage/accident are to be assessed on the basis of profit loss during vehicle repair.
Further Expenses to be considered in case of fine from law enforcement authorities
Fines issued by the local law enforcement authorities, such as parking tickets, give the right to our rental company to contact you or provide personal details of yours to the authorities upon request. This process might take place months after your visit on the island, when eventually the authorities reach out to the rental company. Undoubtedly, the best practice is to pay your fine instantly once issued, either at the designated authority (e.g. Greek Police), or at our company’s desk where our employees carry out the process of payoff on your behalf.
